In late twentieth century sign industry terminology SmithCraft would be characterized as a "full service custom electrical sign company". With the evolution of "architectural signage", beginning in in the 1960's, and the subsequent 1973 organization of SEGD (Society for Environmental Graphic Design) describing SmithCraft has become much more complex. Ordinance Compliance Coordination
With few exceptions, any exterior sign erected in our country must comply with local sign regulations and no single company has the resources, much less the need to maintain familiarity with the multitude of municipal ordinances that exist.
